Statement of Faith

Grace & Truth Chapel is an assembly of Bible-believing Christians who gather in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, for worship and service to Him. We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, is the complete final and authoritative revelation of God to man, and is the final authority in all matters of Christian life and doctrine, for every age and every life. (Matthew 5:18, I Corinthians 2:13,                    II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:21)

WE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE TEACHES:

There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17) eternally existent in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)

The full Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is true God and true man begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and that He has a perfect and sinless humanity.  (John 1:1, Philippians 2:6, Matthew 1:23-25, I John 3:5)

That Man is born with a sinful nature and is separated from God by sin (Psalms 58:3, Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:10) and that man is unable to save himself from eternal punishment, by his own works.  (Psalms 53:1-3, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9)

That God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world, and through His sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary, paid the price of redemption for all; that He was buried, that He rose again from the dead on the third day, and that He ascended into heaven.         (John 3:16, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, Luke 24)

That all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus as Saviour are born again by the Holy Spirit, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and are baptized into the Body of Christ, the Church, of which He is the risen and ascended Head. (I Corinthians 12:12-14. Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18)

That all believers should grow in Discipleship, which includes being baptized, as a witness to the fact that they follow Christ, and learning to live a life that is a testimony to the transforming power of God in every follower of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20,        Romans 12:1-2, Philippians 1:1:6, 10)

That every person who repents of sin, and believes on Jesus Christ as Saviour, receives immediate and Eternal salvation. (Titus 3:5, John 5:24, John 10:27-29, Hebrews 7:25, I John 5:13).

That the early Church met together and continued steadfastly, in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayer. (Acts 2:42) which continues to be God’s pattern for us today. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

The personal, imminent and premillennial return of Christ to Rapture or catch up His church to be with Him forever.                            (I Thessalonians 4:13-17, I Corinthians 15:51-52, John 14:1-3)

The bodily Resurrection of believers and unbelievers (John 5:28-29), the eternal blessing of the saved in Heaven (John 11:25-26,          2 Corinthians 4:14,1 Thessalonians 4:17), and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost in Hell (Revelation 20:11-15)
